Axinom Mosaic
The platform for building modular, service-oriented backends.
Mosaic provides the foundation that every service needs: identity and access management, a unified management UI, messaging, isolated environments, hosting, and more. You focus on your business logic.
What Mosaic Provides
- Identity and access Users, service accounts, roles, and permissions, shared by all services. Connect your own identity providers.
- Management System One web application for all services. Each service contributes its own UI as microfrontends.
- Messaging Reliable, asynchronous communication between services through commands and events on RabbitMQ.
- Environments Isolated, self-contained instances for development, staging, and production.
- Hosting Deploy and run your services on managed Kubernetes infrastructure, with storage and CDN.
- Libraries and tools Backend and frontend packages, UI components, a CLI, and AI agent skills.
The core services run these capabilities for every environment, and the libraries connect your services to them.
How Mosaic Works
Services as Building Blocks
A Mosaic solution is made of independent services, following a microservice architecture. Each service owns its data and logic, and can be developed, deployed, and scaled on its own.
Mosaic does not dictate who builds or runs a service. It defines how services plug into the platform, whether they are your own services, third-party services, or managed and customizable services powered by Mosaic.
Management and Provisioning
Mosaic separates two sides, each optimized for its own needs:
Management side
- Used by editors and administrators
- Unified UI in the Management System
- Complex business rules and publishing workflows
Provisioning side
- Used by your end-user apps
- Optimized for high load
- CDN-ready, with frontend-focused data structures

Service Communication
Services communicate through well-defined, strongly typed interfaces:
- Synchronous: GraphQL APIs
- Asynchronous: RabbitMQ commands and events. Learn more
All communication goes through the same authentication and authorization layer.View communication diagram

Environments
Mosaic is multi-tenant. Each tenant can have multiple isolated environments, each a complete, self-contained instance with its own management and provisioning side:
- Separate databases and message queues
- Independent users and service accounts
- No data shared between environments
Environments are not publication targets. Each environment is a complete, isolated system.
